Amaury Van Parys

Amaury Van Parys is a PhD candidate at the Linguistics Department of Ghent University and is part of the MULTIPLES and LT3 research groups. He obtained an MA in Translation (Dutch-English-Spanish) and an MSc in Teaching from Ghent University in 2020 and 2021, respectively. After a semester of teaching English at KU Leuven, he started his PhD at Ghent University in February of 2022. His research is situated in the field of Second Language Acquisition (SLA). Specifically, he is interested in reading demands and text selection in the foreign language classroom, as well as the influence of linguistic features on learners' comprehension. He combines NLP-driven and behavioural methods.
